I kind of expected some comedy in this book, considering the main title included "AND FRIENDS", but I wasn't expecting Mr. Rothen to get a permanent headache reliever on page 6. When I saw him waking up, I figured Ravager would knock him back out or dome something more slapstick, but nope; he just adds some shades of red to the painting behind him. Kind of took me by surprise. I also didn't expect Maverick's response to be so nonchalant. I'm a big fan of dark comedy, however, so keep the jaws droppin' with the bullets poppin'.
After Ravager's encounter with Maverick, for some reason, I pictured him as someone who would continuously attempt to kill or one-up Maverick, only to constantly fail, over and over again, in somewhat comedic fashion. Kind of like a Project A-Ko scenario, or as the "Ultimate Sabertooth" to Maverick's "Ultimate Wolverine".
I'm sure someone mentioned it already, but the Vigil/Maverick cross-over on page 14 was a nice touch. Who doesn't enjoy a good tie-in?
The only thing I found odd, was how Hatchet kept his gun in-hand, even after entering the house. I'm not sure if it's suppose to signify his cautious/paranoid personality or if he just likes to carry it around for the intimidation factor. Either one would probably fit his character, now that I think of it.
